"Our second visit, and once again very successful for a very relaxing week's break. Marrakech is a very exciting city to visit but to be able to return to Les Jarden de la Medina after a hectic, hot few hours exploring the surroundings of the Medina, is a very welcoming and tranquil experience where all staff are very attentive. We do say that we will return for a short break, but I really think that another full week is on the cards. Thank you all."

Another Ourika...
Leave after breakfast for the Ourika Valley by 4x4… So far nothing very original, however the excursion that we offer Is not like any others !
After a 45 minutes drive, your vehicle changes its appearance and your
comfortable 4x4 turns into a camel and it is on the back of this peaceful
animal that you will discover the Valley. You will pass through hamlets
supported by an agricultural economy. By the river you will discover
curious salt marshes and take a picturesque walk which leads to the Kasbah Bab
Ourika. This hotel is perched on a plateau and
enjoys an exceptional 360° panorama over the valley - a breathtaking
view. The serenity of this place Is also reflected in the traditional décor for this restored Kasbah. You will be served lunch of the day,
with vegetables from the organic garden, on the terrace in fine weather, or by
the fireplace when it’s cooler. After a contemplative pause, you will depart by
4x4 traversing the ridge road to return to Les Jardins de la Medina, your head
full of unforgettable images and experiences.

"Les Jardins de la Medina was an exquisite riad--elegant, relaxing, friendly, and comfortable. The rooms were fabulous, with truly beautiful Moroccan decor, and the large pool in the garden provided a perfect way to cool down after a day in the medina. Next time I would love to take one of the Moroccan cooking classes they offer. We were traveling with our teenage son and daughter and we all loved it. Would definitely stay there next time we are in Marrakech--highly recommended."

"Had a wonderful 4 days here. An Oasis of calm in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. You can walk everywhere within the Medina from here but taxi's are cheap and plentiful when required. The Staff and facilities were excellent. Beautiful rooms, pool immaculate, restaurant food consistently very good. Lovely place to stay and worth the extra cost."

Aïcha reigns over the Square !
You can’t miss
Stand no.1 on the Place Jemaâ el Fna. Firstly because it’s the biggest,
secondly because it’s run by a woman ! Coming from a Moroccan family from
Derb Dabachi, Aïcha boldly opened a little mobile stall there almost 30 years
ago… Offering just omelettes, potatoes and mint tea…..at that time, the Square
was a place of relaxation for
Moroccans of the neighbourhood and from the countryside, for those who
came to negotiate in the souks and sleep in the foundouks ( inns)…. The stall
grew bigger, the Jemaâ el Fna
became a ‘must see’ and ‘Chez Aïcha’ a must eat’ ! This self-taught cook
very quickly managed to expand her business and to become one of the most
reputed of those listed in the Rough Guide, the Lonely Planet,
Tripadvisor…..Although omlettes are still on the menu, these days we visit
Aïcha mainly for her couscous, her
grilled meats and her Tangia ! As for the waiters, what can you say, they’re fast and
smiling ; somewhat boastful and even multilingual, working under the sharp
eye of Aïcha who watches over her fifteen employees (up to 20 in high season)
from her control tower….. Her biggest dream ? ‘To one day manage a very
large restaurant, here or
abroad, why not !’ A cuisine
to taste, a character to meet….. Wow ! Why not, Aïcha, as Chef
at Les Jardins de la Medina for an evening ?

"Very romantic and nice place that I would recommend for couples but also for those searching relaxing place not too far from EU. In addition this is not a standard hotel as it was a palace so the feel and athmosphere is sort of special, my room was great with patio, cheminey, plenty of red roses petals everywhere and the magical scent of Moroccan gardens in all bathroom great products. Finally very good service, food and facilities in very clean and quiet location in the Medina."
